SRC gathered dozens of programs of academic enrichment programs in DFW area that are design to help student reach their potential. These programs are offered by city, state, and federal levels. Students who take advantage of these programs could get a full scholarship.
It’s up to the students and parents to review these programs and choose what fits their needs.
Academic Success Programs:
SRC educational programs are designed to support students to graduate from high school on time and maximize their chance of acceptance to a college that would be a best fit for them. With this goal in mind, SRC created Summer Prep resource programs that will enable students not only excel in high school but help them explore a 21st-century career.
Texas Pre-freshman Engineering Program (TEXPREP)
TCC PREP is a 7-week academic enrichment summer program we offer through a partnership with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). This intensive math-based program helps students entering grades 7–9 prepare for careers in the fields of mathematics, science, technology and engineering (STEM).

The TCC Engineering program will help you develop creative thinking and understand how things work. It will also prepare you for an Associate of Science degree: 2-year program (60 semester credit hours).

Health Professionals Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP) – UTSWU
The Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP) is an enhancement program that opens high school students’ minds to medicine and science through a variety of workshops and hands-on activities. Students in 10th through 12th grades who are interested in medicine or science are encouraged to fill out an online application to attend HPREP. Most HPREP students are underrepresented minorities in medicine and/or economically disadvantaged individuals.

UT Southwestern Summer Research Program (SRP)
This eight-week program is designed to give teachers and students an opportunity to work side by side with a faculty host in a research laboratory. Participants are paid a stipend and are required to present the results of their research at the end of the summer.

Youth 360° Civic Academy: The Irving Youth 360° Civic Academy was developed to answer these and other questions on how the City of Irving functions. Teen Court City of Fort Worth: Teen Court was developed and is sanctioned by the Texas Legislature for teenagers 10-17 years old and others currently enrolled in high school who receive Class C citations from the City of Fort Worth. Participation is voluntary and completion of the requirements will result in dismissal of the citation.

Through the industrial internship program in the Department of Engineering Technology, students gain relevant first-hand experiences while working in the industry related to their studies.
The students get extensive hands-on experience with all aspects of producing a broadcast program. Interns work with ICTN staff who produce numerous regularly scheduled programs, along with an average of 40 specials a year.

Teen Programs at Irving Public Library
1. MIDDLE SCHOOL & MORE
Every month students in grades 6 to 8 meet for activities and plan programs for peers at the South Irving Library.
2. TEEN ADVISORY BOARD
The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) discusses and plans programs for the West Irving Library.
3. TEEN BOOK CLUBS
